The Three Studies op.11 Nrs, 21, 22 and 23 not only require good expertise, but also a strong dramatic and lyrical sense, similar to Rachmaninoff's spirit, written in a contemporary language, where harmony is used as expression.

ALICIA CORREAS was born in Rosario (Argentina). She received her piano training from Juan B.Gaggero and Lia Cimaglia-Espinosa, and studied harmony and composition with Nicolás Mignona and Luis Angel Machado. Along her musical studies she also learned History of Music under the guidance of maestro Carlos Suffern.
In 1971 she obtained a scholarship from the "Instituto de Cultura Hispánica" of Madrid to attend the classes of maestro Joaquin Rodrigo at the Complutense University of Madrid, and was chosed as his class assistant.
She won first and second prizes at piano competitions staged by "Amigos del Arte de Rosario", "Asociación Alberto Williams de Buenos Aires", "Asociación Harmonicus de Buenos Aires", "Asociación Negro y Marfil de Buenos Aires", and came out as finalist at the international Competition of Jaén (Spain).
Concert engagements took her to Peru, Colombia, Venezuela, Mexico, Brazil, Spain, France, Italy and Uruguay.
Her performances of music by Argentinian and foreign composers have been recorded by the Vatican Radio, "Radio Nacional de Venezuela", "Radio Nacional de España" and "Radio RHJCK de Bogotá".
She has appeared with all major orchestras in her country and abroad, under the conduction of maestros Oscar Giudice, Guillermo Scarabino, Joan Pich Santasusana, José Eusebio, Jorge Sarmientos, Juan Carlos Zorzi, Guillermo Bonet-Müller. Upon invitation of Info Alfa Music of Rome, she has recorded with the Orchestra of Radio Sofia (Bulgaria), conducted by Stefano Trasimeni, the Piano Concerto by Rodrigo.
Embarked on a parallel career as educator, she has taught at the Musical School of the University (dependent on the Constancio C.Vigil Library) of Rosario, at the Provincial Music and Dance School of Rosario, and presently teaches at the Advanced Municipal School of Rosario.
She is "Guest Member" of the CAMU (Argentine Music Council) UNESCO, in acknowledgement of her steadfast work to promote the music of Argentine composers' at home and abroad.
